Editing orders appear as SimpleGrammar and Deep Editing tasks on the platform. For These types of orders please enable the Track Changes feature located under the ‘Review’ tab in Microsoft Word so that clients and admins can see what has been altered in the document.
SimpleGrammar tasks are our base form proofreading service. To complete a SimpleGrammar task, correct any typos, punctuation/spelling errors, and grammar mistakes.
Deep Editing tasks go beyond SimpleGrammar orders. This includes in-depth editing and formatting changes which aims to improve the content, flow, and structure of a document. In addition to what would be expected of a SimpleGrammar order please also address the following:
- Revise unclear sentences and reorganize papers for better flow if needed
- Correct in-text citations/footnotes/reference lists to adhere to the client’s selected formatting style
- Ensure the paper conforms to any additional instructions the client provides
- Font, font size, margin, spacing, or paragraph settings
- If the task has a specified word count, please abide by it
Additionally, please note in the samples above that a username shows. If you would like to remain anonymous, you can adjust the display name under ‘User Information’ in the ‘Personal Settings’ in Word.
By understanding the differences between these editing types, we can address clients’ needs more precisely.
